Lydia Jane

So she’s three weeks old and I’m just now blogging about our sweet Lydia…you forget what sleep deprivation does to you…This precious little one arrived two days after her due date on October 18th.  After almost 2 full weeks of off and on contractions I knew it had to be soon.  At about 10:30 that morning I started have contractions that actually made me stop…so I had Jason take me to the hospital.  Thankfully my mom was already here to watch the older two.  Around 11 we were finally checked into a room, but we were just there while they monitored  my contractions and if they weren’t consistent enough or I wasn’t progressing they were going to send me home.  About 11:30 my water broke, so by then we knew we were really going to have a baby that day.  We made one lap of the hospital before we had to be put back on the monitor, by then I was definitely feeling  intense and consistent contractions.  Unfortunately my Dr. was not there and was being covered by a colleague, she came in to introduce herself and commented how comfortable I looked and assured me my Dr. would be there soon and would be able to deliver me.  Well about 30 minutes later, I was ready to push…and we welcomed Lydia Jane at 1:41pm.  all 8lbs and 12oz of her…she was the biggest one yet.

Happy Birthday Jace

I can’t believe my little J-bug is 5 years old…5 years ago after a very long labor he arrived into the world screaming…he cried for the first 6 months of his life…but you would never know it now!!  He is such a loving little guy and has a tender heart…never wants to see anyone get hurt.  He loves Star Wars and super heroes right now..and wants to be an astronaut and a firefighter when he grows up.  He loves his sister and tries to teach her how to fight with light sabers and dig in the dirt…he makes sure she stays out of trouble too.  We love you sweet boy!!  Happy Birthday sweet baby boy!!

Happy Birthday Sydney

Three years ago today this little red-head shook up our world.  Our sweet Sydney has brought so much joy into our lives, her spunk, kisses, and personality have captured our hearts.  She loves anything princesses, playing star wars with her brother as long as her baby Julia can come with her, the color purple, giving kisses, and taking care of babies.  We like to call her “little momma” as she mothers her older brother and takes care of her over abundance of  baby dolls.  She wants to marry Daddy when she grows up, but says she is Mommy’s girl.  She loves to tease and  get dirty!  Ph the craziness she has brought into our lives!!  We love you baby girl!!  Happy 3rd Birthday!!

Soccer

Jace is playing soccer this fall…they are just too funny on the field.  His team is age 4-6 so you have a wide range of little ones wandering aimlessly and others who are actually kind of figuring out the came.  Overall though they’re like a little beehive around the ball…

Birthday Party

I apologize for my absence….we are doing well…waiting for baby #3 to arrive…we did have a birthday for both kiddos today.  Wanted to do something before this baby comes.  Jace wanted a Star Wars birthday and of course Sydney wanted  a princess one, so we combined the two…a little crazy, but they both had a blast.  Now that it’s over this baby can come anytime…

Raspberry Picking

A few weekends ago we got to go pick raspberries…I think we consumed just as many as we picked and purchased…they probably should have weighed both kiddos before and after to get a true account of just how much we owed them.  They were super fresh organic raspberries…I will definitely miss all this fresh produce…just nothing like it.

Waffles

Call it nesting I guess…I decided to make waffles for the freezer…I quadrupled the recipe, might have been a little extreme…but the kiddos will be enjoying healthy waffles for awhile.  I adapted the recipe that Money Saving Mom uses and was so happy with the results!!  Here it is.

Whole-Wheat Waffles

(adapted from Money Saving Mom)

1 3/4 cup whole wheat flour (I used King Arthur’s white whole wheat)

2 Tablespoons sugar

1 Tablespoon baking powder

2 eggs

1 3/4 cup milk

1/4 cup coconut oil ,melted

1/4 cup pumpkin puree (you can use any fruit you have, usually use applesauce)

1 teaspoon vanilla

I make them all up in my waffle iron and freeze…they are easy to pop in the toaster or toaster-oven and reheat!
