Memorial Day

We are so proud of all those (especially Daddy) that have served and are currently serving to make our country free.  We are especially grateful to those who have paid the ultimate price.

We are very proud of you Daddy !!  We miss you!!  Have a great Memorial Day.

…I don’t normally let Jace just eat a bowl of chocolate…we had just finished making chocolate covered strawberries and I turned around to find this.

On the move

Sydney isn’t crawling yet, but she wants to so badly .  We are actually going to be taking her to physical therapy for it because she has week hip joints.  Hopefully that will help…so you better watch out…this girl is going to be on the move soon…

I learned…

Mommy:  “Jace what did you learn in Sunday school today?’

Jace:  “That Jesus plays hockey…”

Mommy: “Really, I’m not sure if you learned that, but did you have fun?”

Jace:  “Yes it was cool”

Before & After

IMG_8550-1

Jace got a tricycle today (thank you Mimi).  It was a little bit of task to put it together…we we’re missing Daddy…but it finally came together.  We went to get a helmet and we’re all set. Jace had fun, but hasn’t quite figured out the whole pedaling thing…we’ll get there though.

…a preview

These are the last pieces for Jace’s room…more pictures tomorrow once they’re hung.

More rooms

I’m slowly getting all the details done in each room.  Sydney’s room and the dining room are pretty much finished.  The dining room curtains, I’m still unsure about, I bought them on Lejeune yard sales and needless to say they we’re quite what I expected, they started out khaki (a very worn and faded khaki) and I decided to dye them…they’re a little brighter than the bottle said.  Sydney’s room still doesn’t have the crib set up because we somehow managed to lose all the hardware and the company doesn’t have anymore…need to figure out what I can go get at Lowe’s…it’s on my list.   I was excited about how her curtains and bedskirt turned out.  My mom had made the quilt on the bed and mailed it to me.  I went to Hancock fabrics and they had the perfect matching fabric…it was on sale and they had just enough to do curtains and a bedskirt.   Very exciting to decorate a girly room.  Jace’s room is almost finished along with ours…they’ll be next.

some food…

I have finally gotten around to giving Sydney a little more food.  She seemed to enjoy it a little better this time around and Jace decided he wanted some too.

Enjoyment

I would say the hardest parts for me in a deployment are the weekends…so we try to fill them as full as possible.  Especially now that we don’t have grandparents to help fill them. :)

Today there was a military wives conference in Wilmington.  It was 4 hours of  enjoyment…praise and worship, hearing from the Lord, fellowshipping with other military wives, all while some precious volunteers were watching the kiddos.   Afterwards we ran a few errands…found some fabric for Jace’s new room, got some yummy Brewster’s ice cream, and picked up some fresh bread.  Kiddos slept on the way home, played outside when we got home, baths, and bed.  (we never really ate dinner…does ice cream at 4 count?)
